With three busy kids to get out the door, I have created the most efficient morning routine I can within the constraints of life. I look for ways to combine wellness hacks to allow me to start my day as healthy as possible - as it can often go a bit wobbly later with the many hats worn through each day.
With that in mind, I wake with a glass of warm water, then a shot of equal parts Apple Cider Vinegar, Aloe Vera and Akesi Ginger. I figure the taste of ACV isn’t great so one shot of three things won’t add to the taste issue but will add to the health of my digestive system. I quickly do the day’s Wordle while standing on my Shakti mat.
I then make my matcha (recipe below) which I often end up drinking in the car while dropping the kids to school. Then I alternate days between cardio (usually 3 runs a week, one of which is intervals) or weights. I save yoga / pilates / walks for the weekends if/when time permits. Post work out I have my fibremaxed protein smoothie (recipe below). And yes - as the general theme goes - combined for effective efficiency!
I feel if I start my days like this I can’t go too wrong, no matter what each day brings. Enjoy the following recipes - let us know what you think or any tips you have for us!
Vic’s Morning Matcha
- ¾ teaspoon ceremonial Matcha powder
- ½ teaspoon mushroom powder (I change which mushrooms but usually Lion’s Mane or Cordyceps)
- 1 scoop complete Collagen powder
- Unsweetened almond milk
I add these ingredients to my Nespresso Milk Frother which then heats and mixes to perfection.
Vic’s Maxed Protein Smoothie

- A spoon of each chia, hemp seeds, linseeds
- A scoop of Akesi Probiotic+ BASE powder
