We have been long time fans of The Whole Kitchen, if you haven't tried their gluten free versions of your favourite baked goods yet then now is your chance. Below are two yummy recipes - created by The Whole Kitchen's Founder Anne - that use the power of Akesi's good gut health products and The Whole Kitchen's nutritious, delicious, and full of flavour gluten free approach:
Lunchbox Friendly Nut Free Raw Cacao & Coconut Energy Balls
Ingredients:
- Medjool Dates - 1/2 cup or approx 8
- Sunflower seeds - 1/4 cup
- Desiccated Coconut - 1/4 cup (plus some extra for coating)
- Cacao Powder - 2-3 tbsp (depending how chocolatey your kids like them!)
- Tahini - 1 tbsp
- Akesi Probiotic Base - 6 scoops
- Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp

OPTIONAL:
- Protein Powder - 1 tbsp
- Collagen Powder - 1/2 tbsp
Method:
1. Soak the dates in water for 10 mins to soften.
2. Drain the dates and keep aside 2-3 tbsp of the date water
3. Add dates to a mixer and blend first.
4. Then add all your ingredients into the blended and blend.
5. If mixture is a bit dry slowly add your date water until all mixture binds together and is moist but not wet.
6. Roll your mixture into balls
7. OPTIONAL: Coat the balls in coconut
8. Keep in chiller for up to 7 days
9. Add to kids lunchboxes as nut free and kids approved!
Recipe makes 12 balls (approx 20g each)
Anne's Favourite Tropical High Protein Yoghurt Bowl
Ingredients:
- Yoghurt of choice (coconut or greek)
- Akesi Tropical - 1 tbsp
- Protein Powder (no flavour or vanilla) - 1 scoop
- Chia Seeds - 1/2 tbsp
- Flaxseed Meal - 1/2 tbsp
- Collagen Powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Creatine - 1/2 tsp
- The Whole Kitchen Grain Free Granola
- Mango & Blueberries to serve (or fruit of choice)
Method:
Grab a bowl and put in your yoghurt. Add Akesi Tropical, protein, chia, flax, collagen, creatine and mix well until smooth. Throw your granola and fruit on top and you are ready for a quick & nourishing high protein breakfast for busy mornings.
The Akesi Tropical definitely gives the bowl a lovely tropical taste!
